Featured Debate: Duty to abort
Excerpt
... we have a duty not to create harm... we do not have a duty to provide pleasure... If we assume that these universal intuitions are correct, then clearly it is wrong to start new human lives...
Anti-natalism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinatalism), is the view that having children is not only not an ethical imperative, but in fact unethical. Francois Tremblay is taking the anti-natalist position, going as far as to suggest that we have a duty to abort. Ken takes the contrary position.

Labor Theory of Value (LTV) vs Subjective Theory of Value (STV)
The Labor Theory of Value (LTV) is the position that the value of a good is directly related to, and based on, the labor it takes to produce it. The Subjective Theory of Value (STV) is the position that the value of a good is purely based on the subjective evaluation of the consumer. The STV is the value theory which, according to Francois Tremblay, underlies, and ostensibly justifies, capitalism.
Francois Tremblay argues that the LTV offers a better description of value and prices than the STV. David A. Harding takes the opposite position.
Open borders
Shwinnebego and Anthony discuss whether the United States government has the right to enforce the borders of the United States. It has pretty quickly become a discussion about the definition of "United States", "government", and whether they exist in fact.
